Dance Challenge

D.R.E.A.M.S. Foundation of Acadiana is dedicated to promoting support and activities to children and adults with special needs in the Acadiana area. Their main goal is for individuals with special needs in this area to have fun, and to support parents and caregivers by keeping them informed of the resources available. Any individual can participate regardless of their needs. They adapt their programs around the individual’s abilities, so that they can perform at their highest potential. Jill Listi Dance Studio is a proud partner with D.R.E.A.M.S. Foundation of Acadiana to provide a dance program for persons with special needs – the Dance Challenge class. Ages of individuals in this program range from 7 to 60 years old. It is a weekly scheduled, one hour class where the students learn a variety of styles (jazz, hiphop, ballet, trending dances like “Whip and Nae Nae,” and skills that they may have never learned otherwise) and ultimately prepare a routine that is performed in the studio’s annual dance performance/show. It’s a tremendous program that continues to grow with each new year and is a cherished class at the studio.
